First and Only Weekly Online Fanzine Devoted to the Life & Works of Edgar Rice Burroughs Since 1996 ~ Over 10,000 Web Pages in Archive presents Volume 2330 THE WONDERS OF HAGENBECK TIERPARK Pt. II TUNNEL & UNDERSEA JOURNEY TO THE EARTH'S CORE TARZAN'S PELLUCIDAR COTTAGE . |
The first reported expedition to earth's hollow core world - Pellucidar - was in 1914 when author Edgar Rice Burroughs described the adventures of scientist Abner Perry and adventurer David Innes. They used Perry's invention to burrow through the lithosphere and mantle and into the region of the inner core which they found to be hollow and life supporting. At the very centre of this inner world was a miniature sun which provided perpetual sunlight which shone on seas and land masses populated by prehistoric life forms. |
