EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS, creator of the immortal Tarzan, was also a world-famous author of science fiction and other adventure stories. LAND OF TERROR and SAVAGE PELLUCIDAR are science fiction novels set in the exciting, primitive land of Pellucidar, a lost world inside the earth itself! Here giant reptiles, survivors of an age millions of years ago, contend with cave man warriors and a handful of courageous explorers from the outer world for dominions over their lush kingdom.

Portions of it were first published in magazines in 1942 -- an entire 20,000-word section is published here for the first time, sealed until now with other unpublished papers of the author. SAVAGE PELLUCIDAR, available now for the first time in its complete form, is one of Burroughs' most stirring science fiction adventures.
~~ Dust Jacket Blurb from the 1963 Canaveral Press edition of Savage Pellucidar
Not long after Edgar Rice Burroughs died in March, 1950, rumors were whispered that ERB had left in his massive office safe many unpublished manuscripts. For years this legend retained its currency among science-fantasy fans. And now -- from Hulbert Burroughs, ERB's son -- comes confirmation.Among the newly-discovered, never-before-published Burroughs' stories was one that was seemingly pre-destined to appear in Amazing. For, during February, March and April of 1942, we published three stories Burroughs had written about the adventures of David Innes and Abner Perry in Pellucidar, the hollow world of primitive men and monsters inside the center of the Earth. Their titles were: Return to Pellucidar, Men of the Bronze Age, and Tiger Girl.
Now we are pleased and proud to present -- even though it is 21 years later -- the final segment of this Burroughs epic: Savage Pellucidar. Once again, join Innes and Perry, Ah-gilak and O-aa, and Dian the Beautiful as they adventure through the horizonless, timeless world.~~ Introduction to the first publication of Savage Pellucidar in Amazing Stories November 1963
