Conquest of the Moon was serialized over four months in "Modern Mechanics and Inventions" magazine.
It appeared in 1928 issues, November and December and in the 1929 January and February issues.

Edgar Rice Burroughs outdoes even his previous deservedly famous tales.
Beset by strange, half-human animals, the earth men struggle for their lives
in a queer world of red grass and perpetual day,
where the Men in the Moon are not the least of the many dangers.

The journey to the heart of the moon was made possible
by the invention of a wonderful interplanetary cruiser called the Barsoom.
Propulsion through the cold immensity of space was gained through use of the Eighth Ray, a discharge of electrical energy exhausted by all the heavenly bodies, and which required only to be harnessed by the marvelous Eighth Ray tanks of the Barsoom in order to send the steel ship to any spot in the universe.
This is a startling story of the adventures of Julian and Nah-ee-lah the Moon Maid in Va-nah, the marvelous lunar country which exists under the crust of the moon.

Featured on this page are 21 illustrations by C. Saunders that appeared in the Modern Mechanics serialization. I have included the headings of the chapters in which each illustration appeared.
