J. Allen St. John was Edgar Rice Burroughs' favourite artist and he illustrated a great many of the author's books -- covers, interior art, ads, newspaper serials, etc. We have featured Mr. St. John many times in our ERBzine pages, which is apparent to anyone using our internal Google search feature.

In the +100 ERB C.H.A.S.E.R. Biblio Webpages we have shared most of his artwork that appeared in the ERB books. The images below represent the many Tarzan covers to which he showcased his unique style and his love and understanding of the Burroughs books. Many of these images are iconic. 

I've also included the finished cover images which will give the reader an appreciation of the artist's printing expertise. Most of the books also included b/w line illustrations and examples of this interior art is featured on the actual C.H.A.S.E.R. pages for which I've added links.

Most of the images can be clicked to the larger, best-quality versions that I have. Since I started this project back in 1996 I've been on constant lookout for the best possible photos and scans of the art and I regularly update the quality of the pictures. Assistance from our readers in this task is always welcomed.
