A Friend Remembers . . .
I was born and raised in Modjeska Canyon and not only had a chance to
know the Mannings, but while playing with Roger and Melissa, use to watch
their dad, Russ, draw the Tarzan cartoons. I would watch through
the glass window in his studio, or sometimes he would tell me to come in
and watch . . . if I wanted to.
He was a great man and the family was close with my family. The
canyons were a great place to grow up and the Mannings were very close
friends of ours. I saw Roger about a year ago and after catching
up on what we had going on in our lives and as we parted ways, I told him
that I will always remember watching his dad do the magic that he did on
his drawing board.
I will never, ever forget that for as long as I live.
