MEET ROBERT ALLEN LUPTON
Robert Allen Lupton discovered Edgar Rice Burroughs when he found a number of Big Little Books and some Grosset and Dunlap reprints in a wooden chest in the garage. He was twelve years old when he read A Chessman of Mars. Later, he moved to New Orleans and John Guidry and Pat Adkins convinced him that he wasn't the only person who read Edgar Rice Burroughs.  (He grew up in a small town in Oklahoma.)
He was a charter member of the Edgar Rice Burroughs Amateur Press Association. His quarterly contribution is called 'Under The Dum Dum Tree."

He’s on the board of directors of the Burroughs Bibliophiles and he posts an Edgar Rice Burroughs themed article and drabble (a one hundred word story) every day. He’s posted over 2300 as of October 2024.

Robert Allen Lupton is a retired commercial hot air balloon pilot. He built several houses, was vice president of a national restaurant chain, President of the New Mexico Homebuilders Association, and built and repaired bridges and water towers, and wrote business manuals. He event taught a class or so along the way. He is a certified scuba instructor, long out of practice and  he and his wife, Sally, climbed 14,000 mountains in Colorado.  Robert runs and writes every day, but not necessarily in that order. 

More than two hundred of his short stories have been published in several anthologies. His first four novels are Foxborn, was published in April 2017, the sequel, Dragonborn, in June 2018, Dejanna of the Double Star published in September 2020, and The Misadventures of Ssarok, An Alien Warlord on Earth published in 2024. He has six short story collections in print: Running Into Trouble, Through a Wine Glass Darkly, Strong Spirits, Hello Darkness, Visons Softly Creeping, and The Marvin Chronicles. His seventh collection, In Restless Dreams is scheduled for release on December 1, 2024. He’s also published one cookbook, Mama Mavis’s Mostly Desserts with a Bonus Breakfast Section by Daddy Allen.

Just a note, but every one of his stories contains an Edgar Rice Burroughs themed Easter Egg, a hidden reference to a person, place, or thing that appeared in a story or novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

He has edited four anthologies, one by himself: Feral, It Takes A Forest To Raise A Child, and three with his cousins Carol and David, Are You A Robot?, Witch Wizard Warlock, and The Trouble With Time.
