Official Edgar Rice Burroughs Tribute and Weekly Webzine Site Since 1996 ~ Over 15,000 Web Pages in Archive |
This issue was originally mimeographed in two colors, black and red, and Joe was now publishing quarterly. With four issues under his belt, he appeared to be receiving more article submissions. This issue features short articles to the exclusion of simple book reviews, letters and personal ads. The articles cover a range of subjects: a look at ERB’s treatment of native Americans in “The War Chief” and “Apache Devil”; an overview of Barsoom as envisioned by Burroughs; Darrell C. Richardson’s efforts in tracking down “Ben, King of Beasts”; and a checklist of ERB’s stories that were made into films. The Barsoomian was transitioning to more of a real magazine rather than a collection of odds ‘n’ ends and sales/want lists. |
